After receiving news of Mick Farren’s death on the Sunday evening, there seemed only one thing to do – get horribly drunk. Arrived at the Lewes Arms to find Arthur Brown in residence and a really great gypsy swing band in operation.
The band often play in Lewes in different permutations of smaller and larger outfits. That night there was just a trio – but what a trio. Main organiser Matt Guez on rhythm guitar, Enrik Adam on stunning lead guitar and Ian Price on sax and clarinet. They swung big time and we danced and drank. It all seemed perfectly appropriate. Superb.
They will be back in the Lewes Arms on August 25th. Not to be missed.
