    Hey,

I’m the front man to Brighton based band The RPMs. I recently picked up a copy of Brighton & Hove Musical Times whilst at a rehearsal in Brighton Electric. I picked it up when I saw the great art work of Roger Daltrey on the front and I just wanted to say that it is a great little mag for all the latest music lowdown in and around Brighton and I hugely respect the DIY attitude, also loved that it was student friendly a.k.a free! :).

Looking forward to the next issue, keep it up.

I wanted to get in touch with you about the Brighton based band, My Life Story, who are back on the road with a brand new single “The 24 Hour Deflowerer”, and are coming to Brighton on 30th October.
The 90s cult orchestral group, starring Jake Shillingford, is best known for its tracks “12 Reasons Why I Love Her”, “Sparkle” and “Strumpet”, which earned him six UK Top 40 singles. After a six year hiatus, Jake bought the band back together in 2006 with a ‘Best Of’ album but this new single will be the first new release from the band in 15 years! The “The 24 Hour Deflowerer” single will be released on November 1st and will make its live debut on this tour, where fans can hear the new track for the very first time.

Jake has worked with the likes of Morrissey and Marc Almond, as well as founding his own record label in 2002. He is also a lecturer at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and in the last two years Jake has written music for various TV projects including documentary films and music for Sky Sports; he has also played guitar on the X Factor – so needless to say, he’s had a fascinating career so far!

Jake is a local and would be great to get your support. It would be great to get a preview or listing.

    Please let me know!

    Many thanks
